Born in the heart of the Church and located in the center of Rome, with both saints and popes among its distinguished alumni, the Pontifical Lateran University, with more than two centuries of tradition, stands today as a leader on the frontier of formation and scientific research.

The four Faculties and two Institutes of the Lateran offer both basic and specialized formation, enriched and completed by graduate degree programs in various specializations.

Both the teaching faculty and the student body come from all over the world, providing an international dimension that reflects the universal mission of the Church and ensures personal and pastoral growth and greater cultural awareness.

Centro Lateranense Alti Studi (CLAS)

The Lateran Centre of Advanced Studies (Postgraduate Schools) is an academic department of the Pontifical Lateran University, focused on training researchers and professionals through higher education and lifelong learning. The Centre is engaged in furthering the new evangelization and in the prospect of a fruitful exchange of knowledge and faith with the thought and the life of man in his cultural, social and economic dimensions.

For this purpose, CLAS looks after a highly specialized academic training: postgraduate programs, interdisciplinary research, international and inter-institutional collaboration with institutions who have the same goals of excellence.

CLAS promotes scientific research and professional empowerment, particularly through a professionalization of excellence, and offers training post- and extra-curricular training-courses (Masters, specializations, interdisciplinary) that supervises obtaining the necessary certificates.

It is formed by the three Higher Schools in Communication, Law and Economics. There are 1st and 2nd level masters, postgraduate courses of advanced education and the International School of Pastoral Management
